Tour #1: Denver City Swing
9:00 am - 12:30 pm
Price per person: $24
Take a trip into the heart of the Mile High City on a Denver City Swing. You’ll tour the downtown finance and business areas as well as the revitalized parts of “old” Denver which have been creatively combined with the powerful skyscrapers. See the spectacular Colorado State Capitol Building, then stop at historic 9th Street Park.
Enjoy riding through our lovely mansion areas and parks and catch a glimpse of the recently renovated lower downtown (LoDo). Virtually forgotten for years, local visionaries have concentrated on the renovation of these buildings with exciting results! Shops and galleries are springing up everywhere and pulsing with life!
A picture stop will be made at Coors Field, home of the Colorado Rockies, and one of the top tourists stops in the Denver area. Here you will be able to view the “Evolution of the Ball” exhibit.
Tour #2: Private Peek at Historic Homes
1:00 pm - 4:00 pm
Price Per Person: $28
Visit the "Unsinkable" Molly Brown House, the entirely restored home of one of Colorado's most colorful Victorian heroines. Molly received her unusual nickname as a result of the courage and leadership she displayed during the sinking of the "Unsinkable" Titanic. Located in Denver's Capitol Hill area, the house was originally built in the late 1800s and reflects turn-of-the-century Victorian influence. A privately guided tour of the premises conducted by tour gouides in 1900s-style gowns, reveals fascinating glimpses into the flamboyant lifestyle of a bygone era.
Next, we'll take you to an equally interesting mansion — the Byers/Evans Mansion. John Evans was Colorado's second territorial governor. William Byers founded the Rocky Mountain News. Both men and their families were prominent during Denver's early years, and their names appeared on avenues and mountain peaks. This house, built by Byers in 1883 and sold to Evan's son in 1889, has been restored to the 1912-24 period. The two rooms at the entrance now house the Denver History Museum and its interactive video displays.
