How to Relieve Painful Arthritis
If you are suffering from arthritis you know how painful it is. Although people have different threshold for pains, most sufferers find arthritis pain very disabling. The pain and swelling could prevent you from doing normal joint repetitive movements and this is really frustrating. It is important to know how to relieve painful arthritis to feel better.

Arthritis is a joint problem and it could restrict you from certain joint movement because of the pain and swelling of joints. It is best to know what to do to relieve painful arthritis and get rid of its disturbing symptoms. Dealing with this kind of disease could be really difficult but if you know what to do, you can get rid of the painful symptoms for good. Here are some tips:

Anti-inflammatory drugs. The most common way to relieve painful arthritis is through medications. A variety of NSAIDs (Nonsteroidal Anti-inflammatory Drugs) are available to help you manage the pains of arthritis. There are over the counter anti-inflammatory drugs to reduce swelling and pains like Ibuprofen. There are also prescription drugs like Celecoxib and Naproxen Sodium. But you have to know that drugs have its side effects especially if taken for a long period of time. Some common side effects are dizziness, headache, ringing in the ears, rashes, stomach discomfort and liver or kidney problems. It is best to ask your doctor what medication is best for your condition.

Deep breathing. If you are suffering from pain it is so easy to panic or get irritated but always remember that these negative feelings are not helpful to your arthritis. Try to calm down and relax. Deep breathing is not only beneficial to your health but it can also help you relieve painful arthritis. Deep breathing releases tension, relaxes your muscles, improves oxygen circulation in your body and encourages the production of endorphins which is a chemical produced by our body that acts as a natural pain reliever. Breathe slowly with stomach out as you inhale and stomach in as you exhale.

Exercises. Certain types of exercises help relieve painful arthritis and stiffness in your joints. You have to talk to your doctor or rheumatologist what movements or exercises should be avoided and encouraged. There maybe movements you need to avoid preventing further joint damage and there are recommended exercises to strengthen your bones and muscles preventing arthritis flare up. Stretching or gentle exercises maybe recommended by your doctor or you may need the help of physical therapist. Always talk to your doctor before engaging in any exercise program.

Natural remedies. Today more and more people are into alternative remedies because they find it inexpensive and effective. Natural remedies are gaining popularity because it has no side effects.
