Information and Agreement

For Mentoring Program Participants

Mentoring programs sponsored by AAPS, including such programs conducted by AAPS Sections, are designed to enhance career experiences and opportunitites for both mentors and mentees. An effort will be made to appropriately match a mentor and a mentee, based on information provided by each, so as to further the objectives of the program. However, it must be understood that an individual pairing of a mentor and a mentee may prove to be unsatisfactory in the view of the mentor, mentee, or both. In that event, the mentor and/or mentee may request a different pairing.

Participation of both mentors and mentees in AAPS mentoring programs is strictly voluntary and without compensation. A mentee is solely responsible for evaluating any opinion and/or advice received from a mentor, as well as for any decision made or any action taken, or not taken, by the mentee based on any such opinion or advice. Neither AAPS, nor an AAPS Section, nor a mentor shall be held responsible by the mentee, or by anyone on the mentee's behalf, for any opinion or advice received by the mentee or for any action taken, or not taken, by a mentee based on any such opinion or advice.

Mentors and mentees will be permitted to participate in an AAPS sponsored mentoring program only upon acknowledgment and acceptance of these principles of voluntary participation and individual responsibility as indicated by their signatures below.
