AAPS Southern Regional Discussion Group
The AAPS-Southern Regional Discussion Group (AAPS-SRDG) is a regional
discussion group encompassing the states of Arkansas, Louisiana, Mississippi,
Tennessee, and the surrounding areas. The group was founded in June 1997,
and is an affiliate of the American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists.
The purpose of the group is to provide a local forum at which all interested
in the advancement of the pharmaceutical sciences may meet and share their
scientific and educational expertise.
Membership, and participation in the SRDG seminars and discussions is
open to all interested parties. There are no direct membership dues, however,
members are encouraged to join the AAPS. Participation at the speaker
forums is at the expense of the attendee. The membership will be informed
of the upcoming seminars and activities of the discussion group by publication
at this web site, the AAPS Newsmagazine, mail flyers, or via e-mail.
The officers of SRDG are a Chair, a Vice Chair and a Secretary/Treasurer,
and are elected for one year term beginning September through August.
The Vice Chair succeeds to the Chair upon the completion of his/her term
of office. The Vice Chair and Secretary/Treasurer are elected annually.
The election is conducted by written ballot of the full membership prior
to the last program meeting of the year.
