How can I become a member of AAPS?

There are many ways you can become an AAPS Member:

  • Fill out an AAPS Membership Application at an AAPS Meeting;
  • Download the Membership Application from AAPS Pharmaceutica;
  • Contact an AAPS Member Relations Specialist at 877-998-2277;
  • E-mail: membership@aaps.org; or
  • Contact any Section Officer, Focus Group, Committee, Discussion Group or Student Chapter Member.

How do I update my membership information?

To update your membership information, please contact an AAPS Member Relations Specialist at 877-998-2277 or e-mail: membership@aaps.org. You can also update your membership information on AAPS Pharmaceutica.

When is my membership renewal due?

Membership renewals are required on your anniversary date. Memberships should be renewed by your anniversary date to receive continuous membership service. Notices will begin to go out one month before the expiration date.

How do I receive a meeting registration form or meeting brochure?

  • Download a meeting registration form from AAPS Pharmaceutica;
  • E-mail: meetings@aaps.org; or
  • Contact the AAPS Meetings Department at 703-243-2800.

Can I make a reservation without payment by fax, phone or mail and bring the payment to the meeting?

Any registration that is received without payment is considered a reservation only. The payment deadlines are still in effect. For example, if there are two tiers of payment -- $500 before August 1 and $700 after August 1 -- you will be charged the $700 fee if you do not pay until after August 1, even if you've faxed registration prior to August 1.

Meeting registration fees cannot be guaranteed without payment.

Does AAPS accept purchase orders in payment for a meeting?

AAPS does not accept corporate purchase orders or government form 1099 as payment for meeting registrations. All payments must be by cash, check or credit card.

Can I get invoiced for my membership dues, meeting registration or journal subscription?

It is not currently a standard practice at AAPS to invoice for the association's products or services.

As a member, will I automatically receive meeting announcements?

Yes, as a service to all members you will automatically receive all meeting announcements. You may also check the latest information on the Education/Meetings portion of AAPS Pharmaceutica.

How do I suggest a program for the Annual Meeting?

You may contact the Annual Meeting Program Chair at any time to suggest a topic for the Annual Meeting. The Chair's name can be found in the Membership Directory, on AAPS Pharmaceutica, or by contacting the AAPS staff liaison as listed in the key staff contact list.

Who will receive the Call for Papers for the Annual Meeting?

How do I get information about the AAPS Sections?

The best way to get information about the AAPS Sections is to contact one of the Section Officers. All Section Officer names can be located on AAPS Pharmaceutica, or call an AAPS Member Relations Specialist at 877-998-2277.

How do I learn more about a Focus Group or form one?

A listing of all AAPS Focus Groups is located on AAPS Pharmaceutica.

How do I learn more about a Discussion Group or forming one?

A listing of all Discussion Groups is on AAPS Pharmaceutica. For instructions on how to form a Discussion Group you can contact the Director of Member Services at 877-998-2277 or e-mail: Discussion_Group@aaps.org.

How do I learn more about Student Chapters or start one?

You may find a listing of all Student Chapters on AAPS Pharmaceutica. Complete instructions on how to form a Student Chapter may be located on AAPS Pharmaceutica as well as through the Director of Member Services, or e-mail: Student_Chapter@aaps.org.

I haven't received my journals or I am missing issues of the journals. How do I get them?

AAPS does not send journal subscriptions from the national office. All journals are fulfilled directly through the publisher. If you haven’t received your copies, please contact a Member Relations Specialist at AAPS and let him/her know which journal(s) you have not received. AAPS will then contact the publisher to see if the issues have been mailed. It frequently takes two-three weeks to get this information from a publisher and it could take an additional four-six weeks for you to receive your issues. All time frames are impacted by the response from the journal publishers.

How can I stop receiving duplicate mailings?

Please notify an AAPS Member Relations Specialist at 877-998-2277. The representative will investigate the possible reason and attempt to rectify the situation as soon as possible.

What is AAPS PharmSci?

AAPS PharmSci is an electronic-only publication wholly owned by the American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists (AAPS). The peer-reviewed journal covers all areas dealing with drug discovery, development, and therapy. Its goal is to disseminate scientific information worldwide, taking full advantage of the electronic publication medium; this includes the publication of articles with multimedia features, encompassing 3D graphics, video, interactive figures and databases, and sound. Where can I find an Online Bookstore?

Where can I find an Online Bookstore? One of the services provided by AAPS to its members is an online bookstore. The AAPS Pharmaceutica Online Bookstore offers search functions, rankings, new titles, and a 10% discount for AAPS members.
