AAPS Presents Virtual Seminar, Copyright Law for Scientists
ARLINGTON, Va. - The American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists
(AAPS) will present Copyright Law for Scientists, a web-enhanced audio seminar,
on June 20, 2001, from 2:00 p.m. to 3:30 p.m. EDT.
Understanding the basics of the U.S. copyright law is essential for scientists
who create original works or wish to use those created by others. Authors of
books, journals, lectures, and public presentations need to understand how to
protect their own rights and how to avoid infringing on the rights of others.
Registered participants will listen to the seminar on a telephone as the presenter's
visuals are automatically presented to their Web browsers. During the lecture's
final half-hour, questions may be submitted for discussion.
Jeff Glassie, Esq., of Shaw Pittman in Washington, D.C., will present the seminar.
Glassie has significant experience in international legal issues, such as U.S.
export controls and trade sanctions; anti-boycott compliance; Foreign Corrupt
Practices Act; international contracts; and international affiliation and distribution
agreements. Glassie is the author of "International Legal Issues for Nonprofit
Organizations," published by the American Society for Association Executives.
