AAPS Presents Management Seminar on Communications and Team
Building
ARLINGTON, Va. - The American Association of Pharmaceutical Scientists
(AAPS) will present the AAPS Management Seminar on Communications and Team Building,
May 17-18 at the Colonnade Hotel in Boston, Mass. The seminar is geared toward
managers, team leaders, supervisors or anyone who wants to improve communication,
boost productivity, morale, and quality of work. The event will include two
sessions - "Improving Your Communications Skills" and "Team Building: The Science
of Leadership."
During the "Improving Your Communication Skills" session, Janet P. Pepin, Director
of Training for the Forbes Group, will teach participants techniques to communicate
more effectively with supervisors and colleagues, provide clear and concise
directions to co-workers, work with different personality types, and manage
conflicts. During her eighteen-year training and development career, Pepin has
taught communication skills to managers at the U.S. Food and Drug Administration,
American Society for Training and Development, the Smithsonian Institution,
and the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.
Gary Hernbroth, President of Training for Winners, will cover team-building
basics, the facilitator's role, problem solving, achieving consensus, brainstorming,
motivating and being motivated, in the "Science of Leadership" session. Hernbroth
has more than 24 years of leadership experience in sales, marketing and management.
He has improved team-building strategies at organizations such as the American
College of Obstetrics and Gynecologists, California Association of Health Facilities,
Los Angeles Convention & Visitors Bureau, and Michigan State University.
