Pharmaceutical Scientists Gather in Orlando to Share Scientific
Research
ARLINGTON, Va. - Pharmaceutical scientists from 44 countries will gather
in Orlando, Fla., March 24-29 to share the latest scientific research and discuss
the future of pharmaceutical science in the Americas. The Pharmaceutical Congress
of the Americas (PCA), presented by the American Association of Pharmaceutical
Scientists (AAPS), will feature more than 20 symposia on such topics as gene
therapy, drug interactions in HIV therapy, drug regulatory requirements, drug
discovery from natural resources, new technologies in vaccine development, and
medicines for pulmonary disease.
Dr. Oscar Arias, President and Founder of the Fundación Arias para el Paz y
el Progreso Humano, former President of Costa Rica, and winner of the 1987 Nobel
Peace Prize, will deliver the keynote address, which focuses on the impact of
pharmaceutical research on human health in the Americas.
Scientists attending PCA represent scientific and professional areas associated
with research, pharmacy practice, health care public policy and drug regulatory
standards.
PCA is co-sponsored by Asociación Farmacéutica Mexicana, Canadian Society for
Pharmaceutical Sciences, Federación Farmacéutica Sudamericana, Federación Farmacéutica
Centroamericana y del Caribe, Federación Panamericana de Farmacia, International
Pharmaceutical Federation, and Pan American Health Organization.
