Guidelines for Poster Sessions

General Information

1. All posters must be displayed for two and one-half (2 1/2) hours. Authors must spend one hour at the poster to answer questions and /or participate in discussions.  Please arrive at the poster session room one-half hour before the start of the session to post your materials.  Posters must be completely dismounted one-half hour after the conclusion of the session.
2. Bring only items which can be mounted on poster board or placed on the table-top counter which will be available.  No electrical projection capabilities will be available.
3. All items for posting must be prepared in advance.  Graphic supplies will not be available.
4. Numbers for mounting in the upper corner of each poster board will be supplied by AAPS.  This number corresponds with the number assigned to each paper in the program book.

Content of Presentations

1. Keep the oral information content to a minimum so you need to "relay" very little.  Depend on your visual aids rather than giving an oral presentation.
2. Each poster should have the following:
   1. Title page (or large card) in bold print listing PAPER TITLE and NAME(S) of AUTHOR(S).
   2. Page (or large card) listing OBJECTIVES of the study.  For the sake of clarity, these should be brief and preferable in the form of a short sentence.  In case of multiple objectives, they should be listed in order of decreasing importance.

Assigned poster number (same as abstract number - not control number). Provide a label (sign) listing the title of the paper and name(s) of author(s) to identify your presentation easily. Prepare and bring with you to the meeting all illustrations needed for your presentation (figues, tables, photographs, printed materials, etc.).  Mount label and illustrations on the poster board by means of thumb tacks or pins only.  Do not use tape or other adhesive materials, nor write or mark on the poster board.  You are responsible for supplying your own pins. Poster board is 8 feet wide by 4 feet high. Mounting Surface (usable space) is 7'10" wide by 3'10" high. Two display boards are mounted back-to-back on draped table. Handout materials may be placed on table-top at base of poster board.
